Where Penta Began

Syamalakumaran Nair - known to everyone as Syam - founded Penta Global in 2004 with a clear mission: to build a reputable, multi-disciplined construction company capable of supporting the region's major energy and infrastructure projects.

He brought more than 40 years of international experience to it. A mechanical engineering graduate of Trichore Engineering College, Syam completed a Master's in fuel and energy engineering at the University of Leeds in 1977, then worked across the energy, oil and gas, petrochemical and metallurgical sectors in Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He spent 15 years leading the engineering and maintenance division at Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines, became Country Head at Dodsal Engineering, where he expanded the business into Malaysia, Egypt and Sudan, and served as Regional Director at Ranhill Worley across the Middle East and Africa.

Penta Global started with a team of like-minded professionals and a culture built on trust, reliability and doing the job properly. Under Syam's leadership the company grew quickly and earned a reputation for delivering complex projects to the highest standards.

That legacy still shapes how Penta works today. His vision, integrity and refusal to settle for less remain the foundation of the company's culture.
