Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, or
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with strong industry experience.
Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas construction companies as an Estimation Engineer or Proposal Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review enquiry/tender documents received from clients and ensure their completeness.
- Participate in bid initiation, review meetings, and tender strategy discussions.
- Prepare cost estimates for:
- Piping fabrication and erection
- Structural steel erection
- Equipment erection in oil & gas projects (onshore)
- Raise timely technical and commercial clarifications to ensure accurate bid submissions.
- Coordinate internally for bid preparation, including inputs from subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments.
- Demonstrate clear understanding of scope of work and develop practical, execution-based estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost estimations and compile technical proposals as per tender requirements.
- Perform construction take-offs and estimate man-hours per activity for accurate costing.
- Estimate costs for:
- Piping spool fabrication
- Piping and equipment erection
- Steel structure installation
- Develop technical and commercial proposals for submission to EPC contractors and clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for quantity take-offs, costing, and budget analysis.
- Develop Material Take-Offs (MTOs), bulk quantity assessments, and verify against P&IDs, isometrics, and general arrangement drawings.
Required Competencies:
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, cost structures, and labor productivity norms.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with UAE-based Oil & Gas market and practices is preferred.
