Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to support project scheduling, progress monitoring, and planning control for ongoing EPC Oil & Gas construction projects. The candidate must have strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methodologies, along with expertise in project planning tools such as Primavera P6.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for civil and structural works using Primavera P6.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and other disciplines to gather input for schedule development.
- Prepare baseline schedules, updates, look-ahead plans, and recovery schedules as needed.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting:
- Monitor project progress against the approved schedule; identify delays and deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, histograms, and project dashboards for internal and client review.
- Track productivity, resources, and manpower to ensure alignment with project timelines.
Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with construction, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, drawings, and approvals.
- Participate in client and contractor meetings to present schedule updates and progress status.
Delay Analysis & Claims Support:
- Perform delay analysis and provide technical support in the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims.
- Maintain proper documentation to support planning and contractual submissions.
Project Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure project planning is in compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and HSE standards.
- Integrate project risk analysis into the planning and control process.
- Listing out the preliminary and final MTO required for the Project.
- Track project costs and invoicing linked to individual activities to ensure proper financial control and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering Background or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in project planning, with at least 4 years in EPC Oil & Gas construction projects.
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, sequences, and industry best practices.
Technical Skills Required:
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Familiarity with project controls software (Excel, Power BI, or similar tools)
- Knowledge of standard planning methodologies (WBS, Critical Path Method, Earned Value Management)
- Exposure to construction contract terms (FIDIC preferred)
